Peyronie's Disease
⚠ WARNING ⚠
After Nesbit procedure for Peyronie's disease (shortening the healthy side of the penis), the penis becomes significantly shorter.
For full recovery of penile length, it is necessary to treat the affected side, i.e., lengthen and widen the shortened part.
A man suffering from Peyronie’s disease will first notice a suspicious lump on the penis (fibrotic scar) and curvature of the penis to one side during erection. Additionally, pain, early-stage erectile dysfunction, shortening, or narrowing of the penis may occur.
Non-surgical treatment is effective if the man seeks help within the first month of symptom onset.
-
For pain relief: Low-intensity shockwave therapy (LISWT) is used.
-
To halt scar formation: Platelet-rich plasma with hyaluronic acid (PRP+HA) injections, traction devices (Andropenis), and vacuum erection devices (VED) are applied.
-
For curvature correction: Surgical intervention is performed.
Surgical Treatment of Peyronie’s Disease
The surgical method is based on geometric principles to achieve the maximum possible size and diameter of the penis within the limits of nerve, blood vessel, and urethral elasticity.
Includes:
1 - Removal of fibrotic plaques
2 - Straightening of curvature
3 - Restoration of lost length and girth
4 - Penile implant (if indicated)
Important: Surgery is not performed during the active phase of the disease.
Procedure Details:
-
Duration: ~3 hours
-
Hospital stay: 1–2 days
-
Postoperative follow-up: Outpatient, every 2 days
-
Return to work: After 7 days
-
Physical activity (gym): Allowed after 6 weeks (pool and sauna are prohibited).
-
Sexual activity: Permitted after 5 weeks.
After 6 weeks, no visible signs of surgery remain. Recovery is simplified by absorbable sutures:
-
External stitches dissolve within 2 weeks.
-
Internal sutures naturally absorb within 2 months.
Outcome:
Patients achieve aesthetically natural, fully functional, and long-lasting results.
Innovative surgical technique, developed by Dr. Nikola Stanojević in collaboration with international experts, minimizes trauma to penile tissues. Full reconstruction of shape and size (with implant placement) is performed through a small scrotal incision. This approach ensures a natural appearance, with no visible evidence of surgery.
