Congenital Penile Curvature
Minimally invasive penile straightening surgery with preservation of the foreskin (surgery without circumcision) is the only option that does not disturb the natural look and feel of the penis
Congenital penile curvature (penile curvature) occurs due to disproportionate development of one side of the penis compared to the other. During erection, the penis curves to one side (most commonly downward). This curvature leads to instability of the penile shaft during penetrative intercourse, with potential risk of penile injury.
The curvature is primarily downward but can also be lateral, upward, or in some cases combined. It most commonly affects young men with significantly above-average penis size.
The goal of surgery is to completely straighten the penis while preserving its natural aesthetics. A specialized surgical technique protects the foreskin (prepuce) and maintains penile sexual sensitivity.
Surgery for congenital curvature is typically not performed before puberty.
The procedure is done under general anesthesia.
Surgery lasts up to 90 minutes.
Patients can leave the hospital on the same day.
Follow-up check-ups occur every two days post-surgery for 10 days.
Sexual abstinence is required for 4 to 6 weeks after surgery.
